Cancellation & Equipment Protection Plans (Cruise)

CANCELLATION POLICY AND OPTIONAL PROTECTION PLAN (CPP)

CPP, our Cancellation Protection Plan, can be purchased at the time of booking, or within 24 hours of booking if the rental delivery date is more than 30 days out. If CPP is selected it must be purchased on every rental item, excluding accessories. The cost of CPP is non-refundable in the event of cancellation or service issues for any reasons. The cost of CPP is $10 per rental item, except Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs), which is $50 for the CPP.

If CPP is not accepted the order in its entirety is non-refundable and there is no com-pensation/refund when shortened on or after the delivery date.

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY WITH CPP:

  1. If seven (7) or more days’ notice is provided before your scheduled delivery date, you may cancel and receive a partial refund on your order. We will hold a $50 cancellation fee for motorized equipment and $25 cancellation fee for all non-motorized equipment per item and $10 CPP fee for each item, excluding accessories, that is cancelled. This includes either full or partial cancellations.

  2. If less than seven (7) days’ notice is provided, but before your scheduled delivery date, you may cancel and receive a partial refund on your order. We will hold a $100 cancellation fee for motorized equipment and $50 cancellation fee for non-motorized equipment per item and $10 CPP fee for each item, excluding accessories, that is cancelled. This includes either full or partial cancellations.

  3. Any cancellation on or after the schedule delivery date is non-refundable.

  4. If the cruise is cancelled by the cruise line you will get a full refund minus the $10 for the cost of CPP.

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY WITHOUT CPP:

  1. If seven (7) or more days’ notice is provided before your scheduled delivery date, you may cancel a receive a partial credit for a future rental. We will hold a $100 cancellation fee for motorized equipment and $50 cancellation fee for non-motorized equipment, per item. This includes either full or partial cancellations.

  2. If less than seven (7) days’ notice is provided, but before your scheduled delivery date, you may cancel and receive a partial credit on your order. We will hold a $100 cancellation fee for motorized equipment and $50 cancellation fee for non-motorized equipment per item. The credit will not exceed 50% of the equipment cost (not including delivery, EPP or CPP fees).

  3. Any cancellation on or after your delivery date is non-refundable and no credit will be issued.

  4. “Credits” are placed on file with Scootaround and are not eligible to be refunded for any reason. They can be applied to any type of rental and do not expire.

  5. If the cruise is cancelled by the cruise line you will get a credit put on file for a future rental. There is no refund.

OTHER CANCELLATIONS with or without CPP:

In the event the customer is unable to gain access to the cruise ship, misses connections or any other issue due to no fault of the cruise line and the cruise has not been cancelled, they will be subject to the normal cancellation policy as stated above.

If the Cruise Line should cancel the cruise for everyone prior to the delivery date the customer will:

  1. IF CPP has been purchased the customer will be refunded the entire amount, minus the $10 CPP
  2. IF CPP has not been purchased the customer will receive a full credit on file, not a refund, minus a $10 administration fee.
  3. IF CPP has not been purchased the customer will receive a full credit on file, minus a $10 administration fee. If a refund is requested we will hold a $50 cancellation fee and refund the balance.

SHORTENED RENTAL:

You may “shorten” any rental prior to the day of delivery if the equipment has not been delivered, without penalty.

In the event a cruise is shortened due to Cruise related issue affecting all guests, the order will be pro-rated, and accessed a $20 shortened fee. If CPP has been purchased the customer will receive a refund for the balance of the unused time. If CPP was not purchased the balance will be placed on a credit for a future rental.

There is no refund or credit for shortened rentals due to circumstances that are not a direct issue caused by the Cruise line. Customers taken from the ship for personal or emergency reasons are not eligible for any type of shortening compensation.

Any shortened rental cost will be adjusted to the normal price based upon the number of days used. If there was a discount on the original order it will be adjusted for the new order.

Any “shortened” or “adjusted” order with a refund due of $20 or less will receive a credit for a future rental, not a refund for that amount unless specifically requested at time of changes.

BACK-TO-BACK RENTAL:

Back-to-back cruise rentals (combining 2 cruises) may be shortened, if CPP is purchased and after the first part of the cruise as long as the equipment can be retrieved by Scootaround and Scootaround has been notified before the requested pick up date. If we are unable to retrieve the equipment, or Scootaround was not notified at least 24 hours before the requested pick up date, there is no compensation.

If a back-to-back cruise is shortened after the first cruise the amount refunded will be the difference between the cost of the first cruise in it’s entirety minus the amount paid. Many times back-to-back cruises are considerably less expensive than two individuals cruises so the refund is usually a minimal amount.

Any refund, with CPP, will be refunded back to the credit card used for the rental. There is no compensation for shortened rentals during either of the portions of the back to back cruise.

EQUIPMENT PROTECTION PLAN (EPP):

EPP can be purchased at any time prior to the delivery date. We offer two levels of EPP – Basic and Plus. If EPP is purchased it must be purchased on all items, excluding accessories and stationary items such as recliners, hoyer lifts and concentrators. EPP is optional on stationary items. The same level of EPP purchased must be the same for all items on an order, excluding accessories.

1.1. EPP Basic for all non-motorized rental equipment is $2.00 per day, per rental item.
1.2 EPP Basic for all motorized rental equipment is $5.00 per day, per rental item.

2.1 EPP Plus for all non-motorized rental equipment is $4.00 per day, per rental item.
2.2 EPP Plus for all motorized rental equipment is $10.00 per day, per rental item.

EPP BASIC:

Covers damage to the equipment, excluding keys, chargers, baskets, cup holders, battery packs, canopies and other accessories.

If damage should occur during the rental period, the customer is responsible for a $50 deductible on non-motorized and $250 deductible on motorized equipment or the full replacement/repair cost, whichever is lower. The deductible will be charged immediately after the rental to the credit card used for the rental. EPP Basic does not cover loss or theft of the rental equipment. The rental cost is not applicable to the deductible.

EPP PLUS:

Covers damage to the equipment, excluding keys, chargers, baskets, cup holders, battery packs and canopies. In addition, it also covers loss or theft of the equipment.

If damage should occur during the rental period, the customer is responsible for a $50 deductible on non-motorized and $250 deductible on motorized equipment or the full replacement or repair cost, whichever is lower. The deductible will be charged immediately after the rental to the credit card used for the rental. The rental cost is not applicable to the deductible.

In the event of theft, the customer is responsible to file a police report and provide a copy or claim number to Scootaround within 48 hours of the occurrence. Any theft will have a $100 deductible for non-motorized equipment and $500 deductible for motorized equipment or the full replacement cost, whichever is lower.

Failure to provide a copy of the police report or the claim number will negate the need for a deductible as the customer will be responsible for the full replacement cost of any equipment, including accessories. All charges will be processed immediately after the rental is complete to the credit card used to place the rental. The rental cost is not applicable to the deductible or replacement cost.

IF EPP IS DECLINED:

If EPP is declined the renter, or their representative, acknowledges that it is their responsibility to promptly notify Scootaround if the rental equipment is damaged, lost or stolen, and that the renter will assume all repair or replacement costs, whether caused through misuse, accident or any other reason.

Declining EPP makes the renter/customer solely responsible for any repair costs outside of normal wear and tear during the rental period, including accessories such as keys, chargers, baskets, canopies, cup holders and spare battery packs.

Transportable Scooters - $800
