Disneyland Information

What is the best wheelchair model to rent for Disneyland?

The best wheelchair model for Disneyland depends on two things: the upper-body strength of the person using the wheelchair and the people they are visiting the park with. If the user has decent mobility and strength in their arms, we recommend renting a Standard or Heavy Duty Wheelchair. This will allow the user to propel themselves around Disneyland by grabbing the large rear wheels and pushing forward. An average sized person will be fine with a standard chair, while a larger individual may find an HD or Bariatric Wheelchair more comfortable.

If the user has limited strength in their upper body, a Transport Chair may be a better option. These chairs have four smaller wheels and need to be pushed by a loved one or caregiver.

Call our rental specialists at 1-888-441-7575 to determine the right wheelchair for your needs!

Where do I store the Disneyland wheelchair when I’m not using it?

Please store the wheelchair in your hotel room, residence, or Airbnb whenever possible. Our wheelchairs collapse and can easily fit in any hotel room. Be sure to call your accommodation in advance to determine what will be best.

How to Make the Most of Your Disneyland Wheelchair Rental

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure work hard to create a welcoming environment for guests with disabilities and offer a Disability Access Service (DAS) Program that enables you to avoid long line-ups for rides within the park. There are also wheelchair accessible rooms available at the resorts and hotels around Disneyland. Staying near the park is a good idea whether you have mobility issues or not, as it cuts down on time getting to and from Disneyland each day.

Electric and manual wheelchair rentals come in a variety of models, including transport chairs, standard wheelchairs, heavy duty wheelchairs, portable electric wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and heavy duty electric wheelchairs. When it comes to planning your Disneyland trip, Scootaround can deliver a wheelchair rental directly to your hotel or Airbnb. We also offer a unique Meet & Greet service where we deliver the wheelchair directly to you at your Disneyland resort or property at a time that works with your schedule. This service allows one of our personnel to give you an orientation, ensuring you are comfortable using your Disneyland wheelchair rental prior to venturing into the theme park.

When the rental is over, we will pick up the wheelchair directly from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb. Call 1-888-441-7575 or email us to make your reservation!

Disneyland Resort Attractions

Made up of two parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, there’s a huge range of attractions, character experiences, thrill-rides, and much more to experience at Disneyland.

If you’re a first-time visitor to Disneyland, here are four attractions that you’ll want to check out:

  • World of Color: This show lights up the sky every night at Disneyland. Fountains, fire, lasers, special effects, and a huge projection screen made of water shows the Disney story and features your favorite Disney and Pixar characters.

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: This classic ride inspired the movies featuring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. You’ll boat through tunnels and caverns as you learn the story of the pirates of the Caribbean. Built in 1967, the ride still has a vintage feel.

  • Cathay Circle Restaurant: This restaurant at Disneyland California Adventure Park pays homage to the golden age of Hollywood with its gorgeous lounge and archival photos. The restaurant serves up excellent cocktails to go with the beautiful food.

  • Jungle Cruise: This laid-back ride is an original part of the park, dating back to 1955. Jungle Cruise takes you on a ride through Africa, Asia, and South America, with a guide explaining the (mechanical) animals you encounter along the way.

This is just a small taste of the things you can experience at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. There are a wide variety of other rides, live shows, character dinners, parades, and more. The parks span a lot of ground, so if you want to fully explore everything, we recommend booking a Disneyland wheelchair rental in advance of your trip. Call 1-888-441-7575 or email us for assistance.

Parking at Disneyland

Wheelchair accessible parking is provided for guests with mobility disabilities at Disneyland, including the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Areas, as well as the Toy Story Parking Area. A valid disabled parking placard or license plate is necessary. Guests are advised to follow the directional signs or ask the toll agents for information on available parking. Regular parking fees apply at all parking lots.

So long as you display your disabled parking permit from home, you’ll be able to park in one of the assigned wheelchair accessible spaces at Disneyland hotel or resort accommodations. If you’re staying on Disney property, you may find that they offer disabled guests complimentary valet parking. Once you’ve parked at your hotel, you don’t need to drive anywhere, as getting around the parks is very easy.
